Well we are in March. When did that happen? This is the month of 3 for Jeremiah. He is 3 years and 3 months old. He is 3 foot 3 and 3/4 inches. His weight is not in the 3s or the 30s though – some where around 41. (The math person in me says 4 minus 1 is 3).
We are all doing well and keeping busy. Praise God we made it through February with no major sickness. Jeremiah has been a “little stuffy” for the last week, but I will take that any day. We have had quite a bit of rain this last month, so that is good. We are just a little above our average total though, so really we still need more. It has been nice that it has been coming every few days, instead of drenching us all at once. The last 3 years have been so dry, it seems like we have gotten more rain than normal, but that is not true.
We had a busy February. Superbowl was fun at Iwasaki’s. Jeremiah loved running around in the backyard with the kids. The following week we had a Valentine’s Party and then Reece’s 2nd birthday party. So we had a lot of good food and way too many desserts. Jeremiah loved it. Andy and I went to Cheesecake Factory for Valentines and Becca watched Jeremiah. He is always a little too quick to get rid of us. I guess I would rather it be that way than us having a hard time getting out the door. He now refers to Becca as “my Becca”. He has become very possessive.
He is also a bit obsessed right now. Ok, that is a lie. He is full-blown obsessed. If you have talked to him lately, I am sure you have heard about Handy Manny! He is driving Andy and I crazy with all the talk of what he wants. For those of you not in the 3 year old world – Handy Manny is a Disney cartoon about a handy man who goes and fixes different things with his tools. Jeremiah has never seen the show, but he has gotten different tools, so now he is fixing everything. He is working to earn money for one of about 4 different Handy Manny toys he wants. It changes every day which one he wants the most.
Jeremiah also went to the dentist for the first time. He did a pretty good job. He let them take x-rays of his front teeth (of course he had to sit on my lap though), but he wouldn’t let them do his side ones. I didn’t think they were going to try those (it was a different lady than I talked to last time), so I hadn’t prepped him for that. He got his sticker and a sticky frog. We goofed up on the cleaning, so that is scheduled in a couple of weeks. I am sure he won’t mind getting more goodies.
We went to the Wild Animal Park for the first time since December. It was good to be back there. The highlight was seeing the 10 day old baby elephant. It looked so little, but was 224 lbs when it was born! We also got to ride on the tram and saw some of the new exhibits, so that was fun. Jeremiah had to see the gorillas, so we were able to stop by there while they were having lunch.
Last Tuesday we went to the Science Museum (where you can touch things) and the History Museum in San Diego. It was fun and free. We got to see a few dinosaurs at the History Museum, so that was fun for Jeremiah. Then we stopped to see Debby Proctor in the hospital. Jeremiah got to wear a pair of gloves and he LOVED it. He had to bring them home.
A local teacher store does a free craft every Saturday, so we have done a couple of those lately and Jeremiah built a rain gauge this past Saturday. Luckily we had rain Sunday and today, so he got to see it fill up. Only about two tenths of an inch, but he was excited to see it. He poured it out ready for more. I think he is going to have to wait a while for that. Andy planted some beets and tomatoes this weekend. So Jeremiah is excited about “our garden” again.
If you haven’t seen the “Down by the Bay” video on our blog you have to watch it! It is hilarious. I told Andy that Jeremiah had better not go into any type of singing career or this video will come back to haunt him! He just cannot figure out how to rhyme for the song. He just looks around and picks out 2 random things to put in the song. It is supposed to be something like “Did you ever see a whale with a polka-dot tail” but he likes “Did you ever see Squeeze jumping over Stretch” (by the way those are 2 of the Handy Manny tools.) The funniest part is he rhymes ALL the time when he is making up nonsense words to different songs. It is those real words that he just can’t rhyme. I guess we have read him too much Dr. Seuss. I think we own 4 of them and have at least 4 from the library currently.
So that is most of what we have been up to. Definitely keeping busy. Hope you all are doing well!
🙂
