Well here it is the end of January and I am finally sitting down to write up the beginning of January update. Aren’t things supposed to slow down after Christmas? Since you haven’t heard from us since December this maybe a long one. (Just a warning)
We managed to survive the rest of December with out any more goose eggs. It is amazing how careful Jeremiah is walking over the gate now. He will run up to it (yes I really mean run) and stop really quickly to hold on and go across. Then it is back to running.
We had a great time in Indiana and Ohio over Christmas. We got to see A LOT of family. It was so good, but I think Jeremiah was a little overwhelmed by all of the new faces. He was not quite sure what to think of the snow. He did not like being down in it at all!!! But it was funny when Andy threw it up in the air or the one day we saw it snow. He also did not know what to think of Murphy, my parent’s dog. He was so loud and just wanted to sniff Jeremiah. The cats at the Merrill’s were much better!! Of course he got more toys than we have room for. He did a great job on the airplane! He did not want to be in his carseat for long time afterward.
He also got his first tooth when we were in Indiana! It is still working its way through. The second one is about ready to come in. They seem to take for ever to finally break through. We have tried to get pictures, but he won’t let us see it! The one I am attaching is the best we could get.
Since we got back it has been a whirl wind. All fun stuff, but busy. We have met friends in the park several times and we went with 3 other kids and 3 other adults to the Wild Animal Park. It has been so fun to watch Jeremiah interact with other kids his age. He loves kids and has to be about 6 inches away from them at all times. It is funny. I thought kids his age usually played beside each other not with each other. Not Jeremiah, he wants to play with people. He will even take another toy up to someone to “trade” them so he can get the one he is playing with. Do you think we will have our hands full when he gets older or what?
We went to the park the other day and he was holding my hand walking around. He then proceeded to RUN down the little hill. He didn’t fall. He has also figured out how to take a step down to get out the door to our back patio. He is a “big boy” now when we go somewhere. He has to walk to the car by himself.
He loves to pull every toy out and place in it the middle of the room. He loves cars, trucks, and tractors, but his favorite right now is airplanes. He makes a different sound for them than any other vehicle. He has a plane puzzle piece that he flies all over the house. He love to see the real airplanes in the sky too. From our patio you can see the flight path to the local airport. We ate near the airport the other day and he LOVED the planes coming down.
He has learned to say the word more – “moe”. He uses it quite frequently. We will tell him to say please and he will say more. He still does the sign, just to make sure we understand! He has also
learned to say Isaac – (Iiii sac), one of our friends from church. He says it whenever he sees him.
Jeremiah had a pretty bad cold a few weeks ago. He slept for almost two days straight. We knew he was sick when he ate his banana really slowly and almost fell asleep eating. But that is the worst one he has had. We have been very blessed with a healthy baby.
Speaking of bananas we let him hold his own banana for the first time this month. He was sooooo excited. We we gave him one the other day he shook with excitement. He even tried to eat the peel. You would have thought I was hurting him, when I took it away to peel more back. He is too funny!
Ok, I have to go. I am sure I am forgetting things, but hopefully my February update won’t be as late and I can add in everything then.
Hope all is well with you!
